This Set of 2 Pressed Back Chairs with Arms is gorgeous and substantial! The chairs have double stretchers underneath for strength with 2 turned ones in the front to add decoration. These stretchers are made of solid maple as are the 8 spindles on the back. Also, the curved arms are supported by three turned maple spindles and an original iron rod. The wide pressed backs are an incised floral design - elegance personified! The backs as well as the seats are constructed of elm, and the plank seats are the saddle motif for comfort. The front legs of the chairs are turned and also made of solid maple. These chairs have been professionally restored and the workmanship is magnificent.
